I shot Tamina and Ben's Lake Lure North Carolina Mountain Wedding nine years ago so I was quite excited over the opportunity to visit with them again, catch up and ask them a few questions for my #pursueloveproject
One of the favorites from Ben and Tamina's Lake Lure Wedding nine years ago.
Nine years later plus a few more people! How great is that? If you've followed my personal work you know I've always had a thing for red doors. It only made sense to take advantage of theirs despite the bright mid-afternoon sunshine. We just had to.
After the red door shot we retreated to the backyard for some much better light and to give the boys a chance to feel more comfortable with me pointing my big honking camera at them. I shot the older boy's Christening back in the day but I highly doubt he remembered me.
Tamina’s girl power factor is clearly outnumbered. What a wonderful family. I'm refraining from using the boys for family privacy reasons but don't worry guys I know who you are.
Our lovely couple nine years later! We all joked about the fact that these types of photos of just Mom & Dad hardly happen once the kids are born. Am I right in saying there may have been a little spark generated from this? Glad I could be of service. I'm now offering couples photo-therapy thanks to you.
As we headed back inside I noticed this huge canvas print hanging of a very familiar photo. It's such a joy to see couples cherish their wedding photos inside of their homes. Prints are just so much cooler then screens.
Once the boys were in their room playing Ben, Tamina and I gathered in the kitchen for an excellent catch up session. Boy did we have some catching up to do. I finally asked Ben and Tamina what they've learned about love over the past nine years of marriage. They so graciously and collectively offered up the following thoughts.
"Love is liquid evolving. When you are young in love you learn what loving someone is like. As time goes on you understand what it's truly like to be loved by someone. Allowing yourselves to be loved and cared for by one another is priceless...then once you bring kids in that mix only grows. It's incredible and amazing."
It was so wonderful getting to see you both and to be able to spend some time with your lovely family. Thank you for welcoming me back into your home and sharing a little piece of your lives with me again. I love you guys and I'm already looking forward to next time.
